Comments

This seminar focuses on the general practise of mimicking signals and stimuli to the sensory devices of targetted biological or technical systems to either understand them better or to disrupt its normal behavior. This includes (but is not limited to) some examples of our research (Project RoboBee and RoboFish), Spoofing GPS signals to capture vehicles, methods of optically "lie" to surveillance cameras and other, yet open topics students will have to come up with in the course of the seminar. We will not follow the classical talk-based seminar format but rather have a co-working scenario in which everybody is allowed and encouraged to augment the content of the seminar and the group's activity. We will start the seminar discussing the mimicry/spoofing concept and brainstorming new ideas and examples. In the following classes we will research the underlying technical principles and compare common approaches. In each class our findings will be collected in a shared common document. This document is going to be published in a scientific journal - students as authors. Highly motivated students only. We will open 20 slots for you - only 9 students will be accepted
