SoSe 15: S Levels of Linguistic Analysis II: Conversational Analysis

This seminar provides an introduction to the theoretical concepts and empirical methods used in various frameworks for the linguistic analysis of discourse. The first part of the seminar introduces six wide-spread approaches to discourse analysis: speech act theory, interactional sociolinguistics, ethnography of communication, pragmatics, conversation analysis and variation theory. In the second part, we will take a closer look at some current research and corpus-based analyses of linguistic phenomena.
