Kommentar

This workshop is designed to take the learners into the heart of performance by using a series of practical exercises and problem solving honed from my own work. As a professional practitioner I have moved through my work with a desire to translate culture through the body and recognising that that translation cannot capture everything. I have had to incorporate other possibilities along the way. This takes a lot of patience and curiosity and without these elements I have not been able to transcend the boundaries, of a nation, gender and identity, which is my role as an artist/cultural worker in our society. Sessions will combine ' theory' and 'practice', investigating forms of thought and presentation; styles of collaboration; historical and philosophical perspectives and methods of individual and collective expression and creativity. The emphasis will be on development and encouragement of new theory and practice in art / performance. Schließen
