The seminar offers an overview of the different natural sciences in the Arabo-Islamic Middle Ages: zoography, agriculture, botany, and mineralogy. For every topic, the students will be introduced to the sources and their different textual genres. Selected passages in translations from the primary sources will be read and commented in class. close
