Comments

This seminar’s objective is to provide an introduction to the software package Stata. Basic statistical methods will be introduced and applied. Topics taught in this course include: 1. Basics of statistical inference, 2. Analysis of variance, 3. Linear regression analysis, 4. Data management, 5. How to make publication style tables, 6. Construction of graphs. Basic knowledge of the aforementioned methods is beneficial, but not a necessary condition to participate. Depending on how it goes and how much participants already know, we might be able to cover additional topics, such as logistic regression, hierarchical linear models etc. As a preparation and a refresher, it is highly recommended to work through Chapter 1 of the book Data Analysis Using Stata by Ulrich Kohler and Frauke Kreuter (see below; it doesn’t really matter which edition you use). close
