SoSe 17: Obama’s US versus The Donald’s? Political Culture and Societal Conflicts in the Context of the 2016 Elections

Michael Oswald

Comments

Donald J. Trump tapped into a vein of cultural indignation by a section of US society that has come to deeply resent the Washington government and establishment. This strategy won him the presidency. We will address and examine how the political culture and societal conflicts in the US are shaped in the context of the 2016 Elections and we will take a look into the divisions that made this election possible. Part of this class is also a discussion with students and professors of the Louisiana State University on June 23rd. close
