WiSe 14/15: Comparing Political Media Relations (gekoppelt mit 28817)
Jan Niklas Kocks
Kommentar
The interaction of politics and political PR on the one side and of political journalism on the other is (in an age of mediatised democracy) of elevated political, societal and arguably also scientific importance.
How do political actors communicate their messages to media professionals? Which demands do these have? Which role does political PR play?
Furthermore and with regard to different national contexts: Do media convergence and the proliferation of new means of communication level cultural and political differences between political media relations in various national contexts or can one (still) spot clear differences?
In this seminar, we aim to approach political media relations in different national contexts. Students are expected to analyse and discuss theoretical reflections and empirical studies on these phenomena and to present their findings in a (simulated) scientific conference format (i.e. act as presenter, respondent, discussant etc.).
