Comments
This course will use the Museum of Islamic Art as a means of examining the practices of collection, display, and narrative underlying the museum as an interface between art history and public understandings of culture. It will involve visits to the museum, conversations with the curators, and discussions of future plans for the museum. Students will be expected to use selections from the collection to imagine an alternative staging of art historical information within a museum setting. close
