Comments

The seminar will give an overview on chronic bacterial infections affecting multiple species and will underline pathophysiological processes from a host-pathogen dialogue perspective. Disease mechanisms will be highlighted for tuberculosis, paratuberculosis, brucellosis and glanders; and described for tularemia, chlamydiosis and Q-Fieber. Detailed explanation of the molecular cross-regulation between the host and the pathogen, with focus on bacterial manipulation of host responses as an adaptation strategy, will allow understanding disease processes and pathology. The scope of the seminar is to provide a comprehensive view on the interplay between bacteria and host's immune system, how this cross-talk shapes host's cellular and molecular responses and promotes disease symptoms and tissue changes. close
