A.
Literature Research, Reference Management Systems and Reference Styles In this workshop you will learn how to use the libraries and databases of the Freie Universität Berlin as well as some other libraries in Berlin. You will get to know some features of the reference management systems zotero and citavi, including how to create a bibliography. Furthermore, you will learn how to correctly cite the literature you used and which reference styles you can use.

B.
Study organization: Reading and Writing Techniques, Self-Organization and Time Management This workshop will deal with the following questions: How do I read scientific texts efficiently? How do I write an excerpt? How can I structure my ideas? What kinds of study techniques are useful for me? How do I organize myself in order to have some free time?

C.
How to write a research paper This workshop will focus on the single steps of the writing process: Identifying the research topic, evaluating the relevant literature, developing a research question, formulating hypotheses, giving your paper a clear structure, and writing a synopsis and a first draft. Furthermore, we will deal with terminology and methodology.

If possible, please bring your own laptop computer. close
