WiSe 16/17: Time and Space in Modern Korea

Based on philosophical discourses on time and space, some specific and peculiar social phenomena in Korea will be discussed in this course. As far as time and time consciousness are concerned, we plan to read texts about the collective, historical and cultural memory of Koreans and narratives of the past, especially related to colonial experience and the democratization process. As far as space, the Korean-style apartment culture as their unique form of living space will be examined. Schließen
