Verity Burgmann
Kommentar
Australian society has been fundamentally transformed since the 1960s by the impact of social movements. In the context of similar processes occurring in other industrialised countries, this subject examines the development, political arguments and achievements of the principal Australian social movements in the past fifty years: the labour movement; the Aboriginal movement; the women's movement; the homosexual liberation movement; the green movement; multiculturalism and the refugee support movement; the anti-capitalist movement; and the peace/anti-militarist movement. It also considers the role of Australia's major political parties in responding, or not responding, to the issues raised by social movements. Schließen
