In this seminar we shall discuss some of Shakespeare's comedies from various angles, including their historical reception. We shall concentrate on the following plays, but the inclusion of others is possible:
- The Taming of the Shrew
- A Midsummer Night's Dream
- The Merchant of Venice
- As You Like It
I recommend the Oxford edition of the plays, but other editions can also be used.
