Aims and Objectives
The course is designed to accompany students as they work on a long term paper (5000 words) in English on a subject of their choice. The course will be structured partly as individual tutorials, where each student will get in-depth feedback on his or her writing, and partly as workshop sessions, where students' writing will be analysed and discussed by the group. Students will be expected to rewrite their paper on the basis of the feedback they receive.
Learning Outcomes
During the course, students will learn:
- to express themselves with clarity and precision in formal, academic English
- to develop critical insight into literary analysis
- to broaden their range of research skills
- to take a critical approach to their own writing
Module Requirements
This tutorial is only open to students who have already completed Academic Writing Tutorial I.
The basic requirements for gaining 10 credit points are: the completion of the term paper and regular attendance in the course, including active participation in all writing assignments and workshop discussions.
The course will be held in English. Students must have an active command of sophisticated, near native-speaker language skills (C1 / C2).
