The following material will be covered in the lecture: Ultrahigh vacuum technology, adsorption at Interfaces, Thermodynamic measurements at surfaces, determination of structure, spectroscopy, i.e. electron spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy (IR and SFG), mass spectrometry, scanning probe based spectroscopies), reactivities.
The lecture will be augmented by exercises and a laboratory tour with hands on experience on the various methods discussed.
