Lecture
SoSe 14: V-Surveying English Literatures I
Andreas Mahler
Comments
The history of English literature(s) is one of the longest and richest in the world. It reaches from early medieval documents in Old English to the many-faceted plurality of the so-called New Literatures in English from all over the world. The lecture is to be understood as an invitation to read. It will connect an outline of what happens in English literature both thematically and technically with paradigmatic textual analyses that suggest further readings of one's own. A concomitant look into one of the existing printed Histories of English Literature might prove helpful. close
