Comments
This course aims to help students to develop a broader understanding of the phenomenon of violence and its relation with gender. It introduces students to anthropological and sociological approaches to gender-related violence by discussing theoretical concepts as well as case studies from different regions of the world and different historical periods. Essential anthropological concepts such as cultural relativism, ethics, and culture will be paid particular attention in our discussions and we will look at their role in the analysis of violence and gender.
