SoSe 14: Mastercolloquium Global History
Ulrike Schaper und Minu Haschemi Yekani
Comments
This course is mandatory for all Global History students in the fourth semester.
The Global History Master colloquium offers students an opportunity to reflect on the process and organization of academic research and writing. The course not only focuses on the specific challenges of writing a thesis in global history, but on the actual process of completing the master's thesis as well. Depending on whether students are at the beginning of writing their thesis or in the middle of the project, the colloquium will cover topics including how to write a research exposé, conduct research, draft a working plan, and present academic findings. Regardless of which stage of the writing process students may find themselves in, each participant will be expected to present his/her project during the course of the semester.
Note: Part of the course will take place as a block seminar on Friday, June 13th. close
