Course description
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is one of the most successful international uniform law treaties. The treaty has been ratified by 80 countries around the world, amongst them the US, China and most of the countries of the European Union (the UK being the notable exception). The purpose of the CISG is to provide a modern, uniform and fair regime for contracts for the international sale of goods. The convention governs contracts for the sale of goods between parties whose places of business are in different Contracting States, excluding sales to and from consumers. The course provides an introduction to the CISG and puts an emphasis on class participation.Course type
