SoSe 15: Climate Policy in Germany

Climate Policy in Germany: This proseminar will provide an overview of the development, central features, achievements and deficits of German climate policy. The main actors, institutions, regulations and instruments will be analyzed and assessed. Special focus will be put on the drivers and the brakes in climate policy, and their motives/incentives. Germany's climate policy will be put in perspective: the EU and international dimension will be considered and Germany will be compared with other relevant countries.
In the first sessions of the proseminar an introduction to approaches and criteria for a critical analysis of climate/environmental policy will be given.
Participants are expected to make an oral presentation of about 20 min (group work is possible).
Language of the proseminar: English.
