Seminar
SoSe 15: Methods of Media Research
Joachim Trebbe
Comments
In this seminar qualitative and quantitative research methods in media and communication studies will be dealt with.
Beginning with the research process and the issue of how to design an empirical study, students will formulate empirical research questions, apply different methods and conduct their own little surveys, content analyses and case studies.
Working groups will present their research designs, experiences in conducting the study and the results of their data collection.
At the end of the seminar an introduction to basic methods of data analysis will be given.
To advise and help students during their own conceptual and empirical field work, a tutorial will be provided (see course number: 28712).
