SoSe 15: Ü2-Contemporary Britain: Culture, Language and Identitiy

In the summer semester, we will analyse a range of British cultural forms such as cinema, television, pop music, football, food, drinking, with the focus on language as a tool to express various forms of cultural identity such as nationality, class, gender and ethnicity. As well as analysing a range of contemporary writing (novels, newspapers, magazines, song lyrics), the course will also analyse visual media such as films and television.
