        About this seminar:
U.S.-politicians on the internet: We analyze digital campaigns and strategies of U.S.-politicians. In this course, the topic is examined in various ways; yet setting the focus on a sociological perspective. -----
For this purpose, initially there will be a study of relevant theories of communication, e.g. self-presentation (Goffman). Furthermore, it follows an analysis of specific digital phenomena, e.g. technological innovation. In addition, appropriate practical examples, case studies and analyzes are discussed in the course. -----
A comprehensive, critical examination – including an outlook on future developments – forms the conclusion of this seminar. -----
