Papyri preserved in different museums provide much information about the organization, administration, society, and economy of the Roman army. Most of these papyri come from Dura Europos and Egypt and are written in Latin, the official language of the army.
The Methodenübung will read a selection of Latin papyri to better understand different aspects of Roman military life, also comparing other sources such as literary texts, inscriptions, and archaeological finds. See "Learning Objectives" for other details Schließen
