Sebastian Jobs
Comments
This course will explore different meanings of manhood in American history until the early 20th century. The last 20 years have seen an ever-increasing interest in the study of masculinities, especially in the United States. In class we will follow these debates both theoretically and empirically, as we will discuss topics like sexuality, race, sports, religion and violence that help to understand the historical construction of masculinities in the United States as a social and cultural phenomenon. close
