Seminar
SoSe 16: Methods of Media Research
Anne Beier
Comments
This seminar deals with qualitative and quantitative research methods in media and communication studies. After the theoretical discussion of the empirical research process and the design of empirical studies, the course will take a more practical approach, as students will be working on their own empirical projects following their own research questions. Hereby, they can chose between different methods as, for example, content analysis, survey designs, or case studies. During the research process, the working groups will present their research designs, their experiences, and the results of their data collection and analysis to the plenum.
In order to discuss the more practical issues and to get help and advise along the way, this seminar is accompanied by a tutorial (see course 28712).
