SoSe 16: Ü2-Contemporary Britain: Culture, Language and Identitiy

In the summer semester, we will analyse a broad spectrum of British popular culture such as cinema, television, pop music, football, food, and drink, with the focus on language as a tool to express various forms of cultural identity, nationality, class, gender and ethnicity. We will also keep an eye on the development of topical issues such as the upcoming referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU.
