This seminar aims to be a review of the social, cultural and economic history of Iran from 100-1000. In the syllabus, there will be a weekly reading of primary sources from different original languages (in translation of course) so to have an overview of various languages one needs for the study of late antiquity as well. Furthermore we will also talk about relations with the Byzantines and the Chinese, as well as Central Asian powers. close
