SoSe 16: Sinne und Geschichte in der FNZ/Sensing Early Modern History
Daniela Hacke
Comments
This course is addressed to MA-students who are eager to learn more about new methods that are currently applied within the field of Early Modern History. This course provides not only an overwiev over the expanding field of Sensory History; additionally we will test the new methods and perspectives by applying them to early modern source material. Central is the assumption that perception is not worth studying as a phenomenon as such but that a sensorian perspective needs to be applied in the wider field of historical research in order to make a substantial contribution to Early Modern History (e.g. to the History of Communication, Cultural Encounter Studies, History of Knowledge, New Political History etc.). The languages of instruction are German and English. close
