Topics are in particular Harvard- / Von-Neumann architecture, mikroarchitecture RISC/CISC, microprogramming, pipelining, cache, memory hierarchy, bus systems, assembly programming, multiprocessor systems, VLIW and branch prediction.
Moreover, internal number representations, computer arithmetic, the representation of further data types used in computers, input-/output systems, DMA/PIO, interrupt handling, buffering, processes/threads, virtual memory, UNIX and Windows, shells, utilities, periphery and interconnections, networks, media, media access, protocols, reference models, TCP/IP, and the basic architecture of the internet are presented.
