Comments
The digital self: We analyze presentation and perception of internet-users. In this course, the topic is examined in various ways; yet setting the focus on a sociological perspective and on U.S. internet-users. ----- For this purpose, initially there will be a study of relevant theories of communication, e.g. self-presentation (Goffman). Furthermore, it follows an analysis of specific digital phenomena, e.g. technological innovation. In addition, appropriate practical examples, case studies and analyzes are discussed in the course. ----- A comprehensive, critical examination, including an outlook on future developments, forms the conclusion of this seminar.
