Lecture
SoSe 17: V-Lit. Stud.: Periods-Genres-Concepts I: Problems of Intermediality
Andreas Mahler
Comments
‘Intermediality’ seems (just as much as ‘Narratology’) to be one of those recent programmes powerfully trying to push aside and replace ‘Literary Studies’ under a new and more ‘relevant’ name. Setting aside Narratology, the lecture will inquire into the term ‘Intermediality’, explore the concepts usually connected with it, discuss its research questions and programmes, and evaluate its findings. One of the guiding questions will, of course, be ‘what is (or can truly be said to be) intermedial?’ or, more precariously, ‘what isn’t?’. close
