This seminar’s objective is to provide an introduction to the software package Stata. Basic statistical methods will be introduced and applied. Topics taught in this course include:
1. Introduction to the structure of Stata
2. Data Management
3. Analysis of variance
4. Basics of statistical inference
5. Linear regression analysis
6. Construction of graphs, tables a.s.o.
Basic knowledge of the aforementioned methods is beneficial, but not a necessary condition to participate. If you are interested in other topics/methods regarding Stata, send an email beforehand to jjacobsen@diw.de.
It is recommended to work through Chapter 1 of the book Data Analysis Using Stata by Ulrich Kohler and Frauke Kreuter (see below, also available in German).
