SoSe 17: Ü2-Contemporary Britain: Culture, Language, Identity
Ruth Wishart
Comments
In the summer semester, we will analyse a broad spectrum of British popular culture such as cinema, television, pop music, football, food, and drink, with the focus on language as a tool to express various forms of cultural identity, nationality, class, gender and ethnicity. We will also keep an eye on the development of topical issues such as the Brexit negotiations and the future of the “special relationship” in the world of Trump, May, Johnson and Farage.
The requirement for participation in the course is the successful completion of the first part of the module.
