SoSe 18: Normative and Empirical Justice Research
Zsófia S. Ignácz
Comments
The course aims to give an introduction to prevalent theories in justice research. It offers to give insight on influential theories dealing with the question of "justice" from both a normative (political philosophical) and empirical (sociological, social psychological) point of view. The course structure is divided into four topical segments. The first segment gives an introduction to the concept of justice, and discusses the differentiation between normative and empirical justice. The second segment focuses on normative theories of justice, where several prominent theories are discussed and compared to each another. The third and fourth topical segments deal with empirical justice research. In these two segments the distinction between distributive justice and procedural justice are discussed at length. close
