SoSe 18: Seminar: Ruderbootbau
Ralf Kornhuber, Nikki Vercauteren
Comments
This seminar is intended to illustrate the mutual benefit of mathematical research and real-life applications taking the cooperation of mathematicians and an italian shipyard for rowing boats as an example.
The mathematical background comprising topics like variational inequalities, fluid dynamics, fluid structure interaction, free-surface flows, or multibody dynamics will be discussed as well as mathematical modelling and numerical simulations of the dynamics of rowing boats.
We are also planning to offer opportunities for practical experiencing the (in-)stability of single sculls.
