This research-oriented seminar aims at giving an overview on the development of authoritarian publics across the globe, starting from 1945 to nowadays. Participants will apply theoretical approach of comparing authoritarian publics (Toepfl 2018) to explore the communication history of authoritarian regimes in different regions of the world. The seminar has a strong focus on student’s research projects and will provide a training in conducting semi-structured interview and in case study research.
