      SoSe 19: Gender and Globalization
Radha Sarma Hegde
Comments
This course examines the formations of globalization and the ways in which issues of gender and sexuality are constructed and mobilized. In light of current geopolitics and transformations in media environments, the course will examine multiple circuits of circulation and how they produce and regulate the dynamics of gender and sexuality. Drawing on feminist, postcolonial/ decolonial theories and ethnographic texts, the course will engage with the intersections of gender and a range of topics including migration, urbanization, consumption and nationalism. This course will enable graduate students to critique key literatures and evaluate methodological approaches to the study of gender and globalization. close
