This research colloquium is designed for undergraduate and graduate students of linguistics, whom it allows to develop their research projects (i.e. BA and MA theses). The colloquium offers students the possibility to present and discuss their projects-in-progress: students will regularly share their results of the analysis with the group, from whom they will receive feedback and constructive criticism.
Methodologically, the colloquium focuses on the empirical analysis of linguistic structures and functions at different levels. It employs corpus linguistics and discourse analytical methods.
The objective of the colloquium is to provide a setting that makes possible for each student to produce a piece of original work, which showcases not only their knowledge of linguistic analysis, but also their analytical and writing skills.
Requirements
:- Regular attendance
- Active participation: participation in class activities, presentation of the project
- BA or MA thesis based on empirical data
