ONLINE COURSE - After the tranquility of the 1990s and early 2000s, the world’s economic and political order is in flux: the global financial crisis, the Euro crisis and austerity measures, the increase in inequality, the emergence of economic powers not following the Washington consensus, the globalization backlash and the rebirth of nationalism in Europe and the US. This course will deal with these challenges from an economic perspective, exploring the relationships between economic exchange and political power and trying to make sense of the transformation of contemporary market economies and their shortcomings.
