SoSe 20: Englische Philologie Colloquien: Research Colloquium

The colloquium is designed to allow undergraduate and graduate students of linguistics to develop their research projects (i.e. BA and MA theses). It offers students the possibility to present and discuss their projects-in-progress. In terms of methodology, the colloquium focuses on the empirical analysis of linguistic structures and functions at different levels. It employs corpus linguistics and discourse analytical methods. The objective of the colloquium is to provide a setting that makes it possible for each student to produce a piece of original work that showcases not only their knowledge of linguistic analysis, but also their analytical and writing skills.
Requirements include regular attendance, active participation (class activities, presentation of the project) and BA or MA thesis based on empirical data.
