This seminar is offered via online teaching.
Comments
This seminar explores contemporary spaces of biopolitics, focusing on the ways through which life has become part of economic relations and embedded in politico-moral economies. Through the reading of ethnographies that trace different commercial, ethical, and conceptual spaces of biopolitics, this seminar will discuss topics such as reproductive technologies and assisted death, pharmaceuticalization and the production of chronicity, as well as the animation of moral economies of life. By doing so, the seminar seeks to shed light on the formation and operation of so-called economies of vitality. close
