In this seminar, we will read and discuss research on risk communication with a focus on health risks. Empricial studies and the development of your own research interests will be central. Goals: Reading and writing routine, basic knowledge of risk and health communication, finding your own research interests and research questions in this area. Requirements: Mandatory attendance on April 15th (first session)! Active participation, i.e. reading the compulsory literature at home, participating in group discussions, individual and group exercises in the seminar and one individual presentation of a study with thesis paper. The required reading comprises about 25 pages per session (mainly in English, partly in German). Regular participation: You may miss a maximum of two sessions in order to pass the seminar. Exam: Term paper of 12-15 pages in English, submission at the end of the lecture period, deadline is July 31st 2020. close
