Due to the current crisis this lecture will be held online exclusively. Content is provided via Blackboard and WebExMeeting (WebEx by Cisco) and maybe other applications. Why and how to record archaeological data;
How to store data or the data table;
Types of variables i.e. what to measure, count and record;
from a limited sample to a far reaching conclusion;
Presenting of attribute distributions; what is a distribution;
Comparisons between samples considering the influence
of random noise (testing);
Applying a simple statistical spreadsheet software PAST
(freeware).
In short: it's a course in "simple" statistics for archaeologists
(remember, it's the 21st century). close
