SoSe 20: Mastercolloquium
Ulrike Schaper
Information for students
The class is taught online and requires mostly written assignments and comments/discussions via Blackboard, which can be worked at any time during each week. It also includes a few non-mandatory synchronous teaching sessions via video-meetings. close
Comments
This colloquium will support the completion of a master thesis in global history. It will provide a forum to discuss individual research projects, to reflect on the process and organization of research and academic writing and to exchange experiences of dealing with the administrative side as well as the possible psychological pitfalls of finishing your master’s degree. Students that attend should be planning to start writing their thesis at some point during the semester. Each participant will be expected to share and discuss a research proposal for her or his MA thesis with the other participants.
Course Requirements: To complete the course, you must meet the following requirements: 1. participate regularly and actively; 2. submit a provisional title and an abstract for your MA thesis; 3. provide a research proposal for your MA thesis for discussion in class; 4. deliver a comment on another participants’ research proposal in class.
