Christian Ludwig
Comments
Literature in the foreign language classroom is currently enjoying a revival. Taking this as a starting point, this course will examine the role of literary texts in foreign language education. Its perspective will be both practical and theoretical, examining a variety of literary forms and genres as well as effective classroom practices. The course is built around three major questions, i.e. why do we teach literature, what do we teach, and how do we teach it? We will answer these topics through a variety of genres, themes, and perspectives. Students are expected to attend regularly, give a short group presentation, and submit an academic paper (12-15 pages, see "style sheet" on Blackboard).
