      The course studies inequality in arguably the most complex society. 
It uncovers the different historical layers of social structures, which continue to shape inequality in India 
up to this day.          
  Comments
        The course studies literature on social inequality in India and interprets empirical material collected by the professors on the topic. 
Students will be introduced to social structures in contemporary India as well as to the methodology of studying social inequality. 
In addition, structures in contemporary India will be compared to those in other nation states. 
Students will be able to choose their own topics, prepare a small study and present the results of their research in the final sessions.        close
