Comments

The course introduces students to the method of qualitative content analysis and, building on this, presents various mixed-methods approaches. The course balances theory and practice: A theoretical introduction of the methods is followed by a presentation of two CAQDAS systems: on the one hand the widely used but closed MaxQDA and on the other hand RQDA, which is part of the free R software ecosystem. In the practical part, students perform their own analyses (qualitative or mixed-methods). They should use their own materials (e.g. interviews, articles and other texts), e.g. in preparation for their final thesis. The participants are free to choose the design, direction and form of the analysis within the framework of their research question. The software MaxQDA, which is subject to a fee, is provided in the form of a campus license for HU students. close
