Plans, maps and diagrams are indispensable elements of most archaeological publications. The course intends to familiarise with common graphic elements and conventions in plans and maps. The participants will be made aware of how to link text and graphics in an appealing and didactically reasonable way, using published examples. Likewise, the wide realm of diagrams for illustrating quantitative and statistical data will be explored and discussed, using convincing and less successful examples from the literature. close
