Dorothee Günzel

Comments

In this module, students will be introduced to current developments in the field of biomedical data processing, with a special focus on imaging and electrophysiology. Class contents comprise theoretical and practical aspects of data acquisition, real-time data processing and automatic pattern recognition in life science. Topics from the following areas will be addressed:

Biomedical data acquisition, feedback-loops between respiration and acid-base-homeostasis, immuno-dynamics, circadian rhythm / sleep / EEG, blood / hemostasis, autonomic regulation / heart-rate-variability, physiological vs. technical data processing in the visual apparatus (eye vs. retina implant), data acquisition in electrophysiology (patch clamp), image generation and image processing in light and electron microscopy, medical imaging.
